What Kern records about you, why, how long it is kept, and how to reach a person about any of it.
Last changed 27 September 2026.
Kern is operated by Keller Executive Search.
The registered name of the legal entity and the name of its Information Officer are being confirmed by the owner and will be published here.
Kern records two kinds of information: what you or an employer provides about you, and what happens while you complete the assessment.
While you complete the assessment, Kern records the same information listed in the candidate guide:
Beyond the width and height of the window you answered in, nothing about your device is kept with your answers.
Your answers and your result can be seen by authorised people at the employer that invited you. No other organisation using Kern can see them.
Kern keeps your answers and your result for three years after the assessment ends, whether that is you finishing it or the invitation running out. That is the period you agree to when you create an account.
The period is long enough that a dispute about a hiring decision, raised within the time the law allows for one, cannot outlive the evidence it is about. A shorter period would delete the assessment a dispute concerned while the dispute was still open.
You can ask for all of it to be deleted at any time, and the section below says how.
With a Kern account you can download what Kern holds about you as a file, and you can delete it. Both are on your account page. Deleting asks you to type a word first, because it cannot be undone.
Deleting removes your answers, your result, your invitations and your account, from every employer that invited you as well as from Kern. One thing it does not reach yet: a request for an adjustment you sent before you had an account is held on its own, and that one has to be removed for you. Ask on the page where you sent it and a person will remove it.
If you were invited by email and have not created an account, create one with the address the invitation went to. The assessment attaches to it and both options become yours.
The employer that invited you can remove its own record of you. That takes you off its lists; it does not delete your account, which only you can do.
Use the adjustment request form if you need to complete the assessment differently. You may also use it to ask a question about your data; both requests reach the same team at Keller Executive Search.
